Mis en scene
Title and Credits: The short includes the title at the beginning shortly after the protagonist is seen spying on the woman next door. The title then almost fades out like a bad TV signal, perhaps reflective of the main character's mental state and how it's perhaps all in his mind. It has typical closing credits with one name appearing, then fading away to reveal the next name before a top to bottom crawl.
We watched another short film in class to give us inspiration known as Next Door. This short film was a science fiction thriller set in some sort of dystopia. Whilst the effects were far more elaborate than anything I would be most likely to be able to produce, it did create some ideas on how to produce an interesting storyline. It created ideas on perhaps another sort of science fiction film, without the use of special effects. However, it did spark my interest in using some special effects as well. An interesting one in particular was an effect in which footsteps are seeing stepping on some sort of map. Ultimately, it was very useful in providing me with ideas for the future in the making of our short film.
